Battle : Los Angeles
I love this movie so damn much. The CGI and battle scenes are awesome but really makes it for me is the characters. There are so many scenes that, even after several viewings, have me choked up and crying and actually beaming with pride at the characters. When I first watched it I expected a bunch of stereotypes but that is for damn sure what these guys are not. They're so damn real that it hurts when one of them falls. The emotion plays so right and in the right spots that... well, all I can do is flail with glee. *g*

Aaron Eckhart is fucking phenomenal. You can see that his character Nantz is just so damn tired, not of his job exactly, but from losing so many good men under his command. He keeps everything in check emotionally yet you can see that what is happening to him and his unit is getting to him and he does what needs to be done to try and get them to safety.

When Nantz repels down from the helicopter to recon what he thinks is the alien's command and control center and the rest of the unit immediately follows without orders that just nails me in the gut... every damn time!

And the gorgeous and tough Michelle Rodriguez is an added bonus to the flick and for once she's in a action movie and doesn't freaking die! This made me extremely happy.

I know some people didn't like the movie because of the camera action. Not me, I love the camera work on it.

I loved it too! Would have liked to get much more explanation on the aliens, but other than that it was a class act. Michelle's character was my favorite.

The lack of explanation about the aliens actually worked a lot better for me since we're seeing this from the POV of Nantz and his unit.

I expect that if they do a sequel that we'll get more about the aliens.
