Quick update before my battery dies (I haven't been able to get to Computer Corner to charge it for a few days). Mom saw FEMA a couple days ago. They're going to replace the beds, a tv, a computer, and some of our clothing. I don't know when we'll actually get the money to replace things but this is a good step to getting things back to normal.

We're currently being put up in the Days Inn in town for three days while trying to get the deposit money up to get our lights on. Red Cross is also helping with vouchers for necessities such as clothing, bedding and food and one month's rent on the new place. The only thing they couldn't help with was that electric deposit but we'll get there somehow.

I was in tears when I said goodbye to the Red Cross volunteers when I left the community center and I made sure to tell them just how awesome they are and how much they helped in ways that have nothing to do with material needs. They made a big impact on me and I hope that once I get stable work I can also volunteer for the Red Cross and return the kindness that was given me and my family.

Thank you all again for the well wishes. ♥ ♥
