God I love Bicentennial Man so damn much.

I just find it so sweet and romantic and hopeful.

It doesn't hurt that it has two of my favorite actors in it (Sam Neill and Robin Williams) playing off of each other. I know some would see this as more of a comedy, but I don't. Not sure what genre I'd slip it in since it has a bit of everything in it except for action of course. I actually prefer Williams' more serious movies over his comedic performances (I usually do with comedians). And I'd pretty much watch Neill in just about anything.

I used to love the hell out of his performances when I was way younger, but now I just find them tired (I actually feel that way about a great deal of comedy). After I'd seen him in The World According to Garp I fell in love with the more serious performances (not all of them but a good majority).

And yes, for the most part the movie is considered SF because his character starts out a robot and ends up being an android (it's based on Asimov's novella) but for some reason that doesn't even come to mind when I think of the movie. It's sort of settled itself in an un-categorized section of my brain. *g*
