Notes: This was done for ScorpSik for doing a beyond fantastic drawing for me. When we first started talking about it, she mentioned how cool it would be if they used it to introduce Raelee Hill at the Farscape con in Burbank. I said I would try my best (Personally I didn't think I could get it done in time and I haven't slept in almost two days trying to finish this so I can Fed-Ex it to Creation before the deadline on the 17th). Anyway... Please forgive me and excuse the size of this video. I cannot think of why it hit 110 mb (I'm chalking it up to the higher number of plug-ins I used this time) and I rendered it at least seven times at various settings to get it down. Finally I got some results when I tried my last resort (I have only a few options right now due to inexperience with other codecs) and rendered it with DivX and was able to get it down to 88 mb. Let me warn you now: I am not happy with the quality of the DivX version when it is at full screen and normally I would not even post it when it's like that but I wanted to give you guys an alternative to big boy, even one that I don't approve of too much.
When I heard this song after she suggested it along with a few others, I knew immediately how I wanted it but the look of the clips didn't go with the music. After some fiddling around, I hit on the right look and immediately fell in love with it because to me it feels like I matched the two up pretty dang well. :D
A little side note to this is that I really wanted to do this and show my gratitude to ScorpSik for all of the wonderful artwork she has gifted the Scaper community (as well as the cast) over the years. If you haven't seen any of her paintings, drawings, or sculptures, please hop over here to check her work out.
Enough talking, I hope you all enjoy this as much as I do and for those not familiar with how I vid, please keep in mind that I'm not asking for a technical critique. I simply enjoy knowing how the video affects you. Sounds cheesy I know, but I like to know my warm fuzzies are shared. :)
eta: I just added a widescreen version of the video. I'd gone back into the video to return it to widescreen for a couple reasons: 1. I'd decided that a version in it's original format might look better if they played it at the con (unfortunately I wasn't done with it before the delivery driver arrived, so i had to send the full-screen copy i'd burned earlier. chalk it up to it being the first time i'd scheduled a pick-up from home), and 2. I wanted to take one more stab at reducing the size and this was the only thing left. (but hey! It actually went down to 106mb. :P)
