How do you take away a little boy's heartbreak? I just had my nephew Harley come up to me crying, his best friend and dog just died (we think from a snakebite). Harley held the wolf pup as she took her last breath. He loved White Fang to death, and he's very torn up about it. All I could do was hold him and tell him that at least she's in Puppy Heaven and now she doesn't have to be scared of thunder and lightning anymore (poor thing was terrified of it.)

I just wish I could do more to make Harley feel better. I still remember my mom telling me that as a kid when my first dog Lady died, it didn't help a bit.
